Creating Your Account
Get started with pencild in minutes. Choose the account type that fits how you work.

- Visit the pencild signup page
- Choose your account type:
- Artist account – For individual tattoo artists managing their own business
- Studio account – For studio owners who need to manage multiple artists
- Fill in your details (email, password, name)
- Click Create Account
- You'll receive a 14-day free trial automatically
Pro tip: Add a payment method during signup (you won't be charged) to extend your trial to 30 days.

Artist Accounts are designed for individual tattoo professionals:
- Manage your own clients and their contact information
- Track your tattoo projects from consultation to completion
- Schedule and manage your appointments
- Connect your personal email and Instagram
- Handle your own billing and deposits
Studio Accounts include everything Artists get, plus:
- Add multiple artists as team members with different roles
- Assign clients and projects to specific artists
- Studio-wide calendar showing all artist appointments
- Connect a studio Instagram account separate from personal ones
- Manage studio-level billing
- Track when artists join or leave the studio

Yes. Go to Settings → Billing and click Change Plan or Upgrade.
Your data will be preserved when you upgrade. You'll be credited for unused time on your old plan, and the new billing amount reflects on your next invoice.

Standard trial: 14 days from account creation
Extended trial: 30 days if you add a payment method during signup
During the trial:
- Full access to all features for your account type
- No charge until trial ends
- Cancel anytime before trial ends without being charged
When the trial ends:
- If you've added payment, your subscription begins automatically
- If no payment method, you'll be prompted to subscribe to continue
Display Settings
Customise how pencild looks and displays information.

- Click on your profile icon or go to Settings
- Scroll down to the Display section
- Configure your preferences
Theme Options:
- Light – Clean white background
- Dark – Dark mode for reduced eye strain
- Auto – Automatically matches your device/browser setting
Timezone:
Choose from 13 timezone options ranging from UTC to Pacific/Auckland. This affects how appointment times are displayed throughout the app.
Time Format:
- 12-hour – Shows times like "2:30 PM"
- 24-hour – Shows times like "14:30"
Date Format:
- YYYY-MM-DD (2024-03-15)
- DD/MM/YYYY (15/03/2024)
- MM/DD/YYYY (03/15/2024)
- Month DD, YYYY (March 15, 2024)
